the east of Great Coates is the former parish of Little
coates, that was merged with Grimsby along with Weelsby, Bradley and Scartho in 1928 |

1958 part of Great Coates was absorbed into Grimsby and
the Parish was dissolved, however it regained parish status
in April 2003 |

Conoco Stadium, Planning
has been agreed for the New Football Stadium to be built
in Great Coates, however local residents have made objections
on a number a points. The New Stadium would also include
a retail Park. |
