Christian's have used this site for over 1000 years, although the church has undergone some substantial alterations since its original build.

The Methodist chapel (Wesleyan 1846), school and school house, are mid 19th century.

The school and house have been converted into The Wesley Centre, the primary school has relocated.

The village has regular bus services to both Louth and Grimsby. The Railway Line has Long Gone, in the 1960's Beeching Reform of the Railways

 

Near the church there is a sign that is adjacent to the cottage as described to the left.

The site of the Pinfold, or Pound,  a small fenced enclosure where straying animals were placed by the pinder, a Minor Court Official, until a fine was paid by the owner for their release. Ned Hallett, the last Pinder lived in an adjacent cottage. He died in 1933 aged 77
